NEVER USE DRUGS/ALCOHOL

“BE WISE—NEVER USE DRUGS OR ALCOHOL”
Be wise don’t drink or use drugs. All this is bad because it damages you. While being under this influence one can commit stupidity actions. Alcohol and drug addiction ruins lives. It can destroy an individual’s career, relationships, finances and health. Everything of significance in one's life, all the dreams, principles, moral precepts are placed in jeopardy or worse abandoned. Alcohol and drug addiction can happen to anybody at any time in life. It is a progressive disease of the body and mind. You may have heard the expression, "You’re only as good as the company you keep," and in reality, that statement is true. If you have friends or family members who pressure you to use alcohol or drugs, avoid them. Make new friends who practice healthier habits, who do well in school, who motivated at work, who have goals. Develop goals for yourself and dreams. Remember, alcohol or drug use can turn to addiction rapidly; one never plans on becoming a drug addict or alcoholic. While in active addiction, the only goal possible is to obtain drugs or alcohol to feed the addiction. Regardless of whether you suffer from, drug or alcohol abuse or alcohol and drug addiction, both require professional addiction treatment.
Risk of teen drug use:
·         A family history of substance abuse
Depression
·         Low self-esteem
·         Early aggressive behavior
·         Feelings of social rejection
Lack of parental supervision
·         Poverty
·         Drug availability
Negative consequences for drug/alcohol use:
·         Impaired driving. Driving under the influence of any drug can damage a driver's motor skills, reaction time and judgment — putting the driver, his or her passengers, and others on the road at risk.
·         Sexual activity. Teens who abuse drugs are more likely to have poor judgment, which can result in unplanned and unsafe sex.
·         Drug dependence. Teens who abuse drugs are at increased risk of serious drug use later in life.
·         Lack of motivation. Drug use may lead a teen to lose interest in or become indifferent about what happens at school or in other areas of his or her life.
·         Concentration problems. Use of drugs, such as marijuana, may affect the parts of the brain that control memory, motivation, attention and learning — making it more difficult to learn and perform complex tasks.
·         Serious health problems.

part11

Part 11
Whether studying or in general life, planning is an imperative skill. Here, we must strictly set the hours for studying, and should promote regularity in doing so. Don’t put off your studies to the last moment (just before the test), because in that moment you will be feeling stress and pressure, and both factors will prove disturbing for your learning; that’s the high price of procrastination. During the exam, it’s important to forget about panic and stress. And if you are planning for your thesis, you may find this post useful. Other planning tip I frequently give is that, when you are assigned homework, try to solve it as quickly as possible, several days before required date, but don’t try to complete it perfectly and don’t submit it immediately. I always recommend doing homework early, but deliver it at the last possible day.

·         They concentrate on the process of solving the task and understanding the involved ideas. Of course we are interested in getting good results, but the process is more important. A result is a very brief moment of life, while learning to develop process is a skill that will last for the whole life.
·         They interpret and analyze errors as a way of increasing their learning, i.e., they try to learn from their mistakes. This way, they see errors and failures as opportunities.
·         They look for the required information in several channels (books, journals, newspaper experts, internet, and so on.)
·         They consult experts and teachers frequently. This action provides a new perspective about the studied topics.

part 7

Acquiring the habits of highly successful students
part 7
Everyone wants to be successful in life, but where are the keys to success? Do we have to go out and search for those keys, or do we have those potentials already within ourselves? When we begin to examine life, we can see that it is divided into aspects—life within life and life without; internal life and external life—and we can see that these aspects are equal importance. Even if we have renounced the world, gone far away from civilization, and live in the wilderness doing nothing but meditation we cannot ignore external life. We still have to see that what we eat, do our ablutions and perform out practices on time. So life in the external world is as important as life in the internal world.
